Theme Park Holidays Experience the delights that await you in this selection of European and American theme parks. From the thrill of a roller-coaster to the fun of a water park, entertaining shows to themed hotels and meetings with famous cartoon characters, a theme park holiday is a fantastic option for families with children of all ages. Resort choice Choose between Paris in France, Lake Garda in Italy and Orlando, Florida in the USA. Each offers a choice of theme parks and all have attractions to appeal to a wide range of ages. A theme park holiday is also a year round choice - you don't have to go in summer. You can choose to go at almost any time - why not make it a magical snowy break at Christmas or perhaps choose the thrill of going during Halloween. Accommodation choice Your theme park holiday does not need to just begin when you get to the theme park. You can choose a theme park themed hotel so the fun starts as soon as you check in. In Italy you can stay at the Gardaland Hotel and in Paris at a choice of themed hotels - one in the style of America's South West, one in the style of a mountain lodge and one where you get your very own log cabin. In Orlando there are even more to choose from - there is a luxury African safari style lodge with a safari park right outside and there are three hotels with themes of sport, movies and music - there's even a piano shaped like a swimming pool, keys and all! Finally you could choose to stay at a Caribbean style beach resort with a wealth of white sandy beaches and watersports. If you choose one of these themed Orlando hotels you also receive extra bonuses such as extra time in the theme parks before they're open to the general public. If themed hotels aren't for you, we've also included a selection of apartments (in Italy) and Florida homes. All give you the freedom of self-catering whilst being close to the theme parks and other places in the area. In Florida we've selected two other hotels too, both located on International Drive in Orlando so convenient for all the theme parks. What to take As well as packing for the climate of the resort you choose, remember to take comfortable shoes that will be appropriate for walking and for going on the theme park rides (though if you are wearing flip-flops, for example, you can often leave them at the start of the ride and pick them up when you get off - so you don't loose them on the way round!). Also, take a backpack that will be comfortable to wear for carrying bits and pieces you need during the day (it can also be left at the start of rides while you ride). A bottle of water for everyone is also a must if the weather is hot. If you have children old enough not to normally use a pushchair but for whose legs a day at a theme park might be too much, all the theme parks offer pushchair hire (see resort pages for the height/weight limitations) so you don't need to take one with you. Travel options A short trip on the Eurotunnel is a great way to travel to Paris. Alternatively you can drive - perhaps en route to a stay at one of our Seaside & Watersports or Lakes & Mountains Active holidays. Paris and Orlando also offer the option of scheduled flights from a number of convenient UK airports. A more economical options can be to choose charter flights instead - both Orlando and Lakes Garda offer this option and again you can choose to depart from a number of UK airports. On arrival, car hire has been included for holidays to Florida (scheduled flights only. Charter flights include transfers) and to Lake Garda if choosing one of the apartment options. If you choose to go to Gardaland, private transfers to and from the hotel/airport have been included for you. If you take the Eurostar through the tunnel to Paris, you can choose a service that stops at the theme park. If you choose to fly to Paris there are shuttles from the airport to the theme park hotels. Other attractions & places to see In all the theme park areas there are of course many fun and exciting things to see and do in addition to visiting the theme parks. On each resort's page you'll find details of these. They range from a visit to a city, such as Venice or Paris, to a wealth of watersports and adventurous activities. If you choose to go to Orlando a very special activity to choose is the Dolphin Encounter at Discovery Cove where you can swim with dolphins and other marine life - truly a 'once in a lifetime' experience! Theme park tickets Each theme park offers a variety of ticket options to suit different requirements. Some offer family packages or combination tickets which include more than one theme park. On each resort you'll find more detail about the tickets on offer. If you choose to go to Florida you can also pre-book your tickets (up to 10 days before departure), making considerable savings on the price you would pay on arrival. Special Offer - Paris! For holidays to Paris, unlimited entry to the theme parks is included in your holiday price! |
