Seaside holidays are often a family favourite and our selection give you lots to choose from - learn how to dive, head to the French coast and some delightful holiday villages, pick Crystal Active beach holiday with lots of watersports included or head to Dubai or Kenya for some year-round sunshine.

Resort choice
Whatever time of year you want to go on holiday, a seaside holiday can be a fantastic break away. The selection of resorts we have chosen offer you lots of different accommodation options - from delightful self-catering villages in France to a luxurious hotel in Dubai. There are resorts close to home, just over the Channel in France, or you can go further afield. There is lots of 'seaside' to choose from too - the Red Sea (Egypt), the Atlantic and the Mediterranean (France), the Ionian Sea (Greece), the Aegean Sea (Turkey), the Persian Gulf/Arabian Sea (Dubai) and the Indian Ocean (Kenya).

Crystal Active Beach Clubs
In Turkey and Greece we offer Active Beach Clubs with Crystal kids' clubs. Each has its own Crystal watersports centre, kitted out with a great selection of equipment from top watersports brands. Sailing, windsurfing and kayaking are an inclusive part of your holiday. Our fully qualified RYA instructors hold daily sailing and windsurfing lessons (6 days a week) so whether you are an expert or beginner, you can make the most of your holiday. The clubs also have a selection of Specialized bikes and offer guided bike rides during the week. In addition to active sports, the clubs offer tennis, yoga and fitness sessions.

What to take
The climate guide on each page will give you an idea of what weather to expect and therefore what to pack for. Sunglasses (even for infants) are a must, as is high factor sunscreen and sun hats or caps. If your children are going to any of the childcare facilities or kids' clubs it is a good idea to label all their belongings and to make sure each child has their own supply of sunscreen to take with them. Taking a mobile phone (with international roaming) is also a good idea so that the staff at the childcare facility can contact you if needs be.

Travel options
Your mode of travel is determined by your choice of resort. If you're travelling to Kenya or Dubai all flights are scheduled, give you a choice of airlines. Travelling to Italy, Greece, Egypt and Turkey is all by charter flight so you have the benefit of flying from one of a wide selection of UK airports and being able to choose one that is close to home. If you choose one of our holiday villages in France the most popular option is to drive from the UK. The closest villages are Belle Dune in Picardy (very close to Calais so you can cross the Channel from Dover or Folkstone) or Port du Crouesty in Northern Brittany. Moliets in the south of the Aquitaine region and the villages on the Côte d'Azur are all a longer drive but we can help you choose a hotel at which to stop on the way, or you can add on a stop at Disneyland® Resort Paris for a day or two. With all the French holiday villages a car is essential so if you choose to fly instead we recommend arranging to hire a car and collecting it on arrival at the French airport.

Activities & Places to See
All our seaside destinations offer as little or as much activity as you want. Many offer delightful sandy beaches and all offer a number of water sports and activities. You can learn to dive from the age of 8, try windsurfing or sailing. Perhaps enjoy the thrill of motor-watersports like waterskiing or wakeboarding or take a ride on a banana boat. In addition to water-based activities all the resorts offer lots of land-based activities too, ranging from cycling to woodland high-wire courses.

Water parks are another popular attraction of sunny seaside holidays and you'll find a number of fantastic parks close to many of our seaside resorts. In Dubai you get free entry to the Wadi Wadi water park, right next door to the hotel. In France there are a range of water parks to choose from.
